W4 has grown enormously in recent years, partly due to the acquisition of just-medical! New offices in various countries and employees from different countries have become part of W4. The desire for all employees to meet up live has therefore existed for some time. With our W4 World Party 2023 in Istanbul from 30 November to 3 December, this wish has now come true - the joy was huge! During this extended weekend, we not only got to know each other better, but also strengthened our team spirit and made new friends.
On the day of arrival, there was of course a big get-together and a warm welcome for all employees, followed by dinner at the Novotel on the Bosporus. We enjoyed a very tasty and lavishly presented buffet with all kinds of international and Turkish delicacies. The party got off to a lively start with a few drinks or a few more.
After a delicious breakfast with a view over the Bosporus Strait, our workshop day started with an emotional speech by W4 owner Jörg Wenzel and a speech by our Managing Director Sarah Wilhelm on the future W4 strategy. Afterwards, we created unique masterpieces with Lego in the Playshop in colourful mixed teams, which reflect our multi-cultural company culture in a variety of ways. We also designed a special kind of world map that illustrates how international W4 and its employees are.
Another highlight followed in the late afternoon: a boat tour with dinner and live music on the Bosphorus – the sunset was spectacular! The party started in this unique atmosphere and culminated in the clubbing that followed.
On this day, we took a closer look at Istanbul – divided into several groups, we went on a puzzle tour through the city and ended up at exciting places such as the famous Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the traditional Istanbul Grand Bazaar. After a lunch of traditional Turkish appetisers, kebabs and baklava, we enjoyed some free time in Istanbul – for some of us this meant sightseeing and for others it was off to the hammam or a shisha bar.
After a moving farewell session, it was time to say goodbye to Istanbul. The film & photo team from Flamisch, who accompanied us throughout the entire event, created a great review video of our trip for us to say goodbye - the crowning glory of an unforgettable experience.
